FLIGHT CHECK-IN TIME

Our recommendation is to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight departure to allow for smooth baggage drop-off, travel document control, and boarding.

Please keep in mind that check-in counters close 30-60 minutes before the flight, depending on the airport*, and after that time, passengers cannot board the plane. This is a standard procedure that must be followed to ensure the plane departs on time.

    Check-in counters close 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal 1.
  • PODGORICA (TGD - Podgorica Airport)
    Check-in counters close 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    There is only one terminal at the airport, the Departure Terminal.
  • BAKU (GYD - Heydar Aliyev Intl Airport)
    Check-in counters close 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal 1.
  • BELGRADE (BEG - Nikola Tesla Airport)
    Check-in counters close 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal 2.
  • BRNO (BRQ - Turany Airport)
    Check-in counters close 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    There is only one terminal at the airport.
  • ZURICH (ZRH - Zurich Airport)
    Check-in counters close 60 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    There is only one terminal at the airport for all, and check-in is at "Check-in 2".
  • FRANKFURT (FRA - Frankfurt Intl Airport - T3)
    Check-in counters close 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal 3, Hall G, Zone 41/42 (07.30 – 14.30), and outside of these hours operations will be carried out in the Main Terminal Building (Zone 32–37).
  • ISTANBUL (IST - Istanbul Airport)
    Check-in counters close 60 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    There is only one terminal at the airport, the International Terminal.
  • IZMIR (ADB - Adnan Menderes Airport)
    Check-in counters close 45 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from the International Terminal.
  • LYON (LYS - St-Exupery Airport)
    Check-in counters close 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal 1.
  • LJUBLJANA (LJU - Joze Pucnik Airport)
    Check-in counters close 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    Flights operate from Terminal A.
  • NANTES (NTE - Atlantique Airport)
    Check-in counters close 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
    There is only one terminal at the airport.
  • PARIS (CDG - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport)

Flight Check-in Options

Check in online from your computer, tablet, or smartphone and save time at the airport by avoiding queues at the check-in counters.

1. Online Check-in

With online check-in, you can obtain your boarding pass in just a few simple steps. Your boarding pass can be sent to your email as a mobile boarding pass or printed out.

What you need to know about online check-in

  • Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure.

  • Online check-in closes 3 hours and 30 minutes before departure.

  • Once you have completed online check-in, save a copy of your boarding pass to your email or print it out.

  • Boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure.

If you are travelling with hand baggage only, proceed directly to passport and security control upon arrival at the airport.

2. Airport Check-in

Check-in counters are available at all Air Montenegro destinations free of charge.

  • Airport check-in counters close between 30 and 60 minutes before departure, depending on the airport. For more information, please refer to the  Airport check-in section. 

  • Boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure.

If you are travelling with hand baggage only, proceed directly to passport control and security screening upon arrival at the airport.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Which flights are eligible for online check-in?

Online check-in is available for all flights operated by Air Montenegro.

Can I select my seat during online check-in?

Yes, seat selection is available during online check-in. Depending on your fare type, seat selection may be free of charge or available for an additional fee. If you do not choose a seat, one will be assigned to you automatically.

I am not satisfied with the seat assigned to me through the website or mobile app. How can I change it?

If you wish to reserve a specific seat, you may do so during online check-in, up to 3 hours and 30 minutes before departure. Once online check-in has been completed, assigned seats cannot be changed through our website, mobile app, or by our Contact Centre or sales office agents. Please note that seat changes are also not available at the baggage drop-off counter.

After entering my reservation details on the homepage, an error appears and I am unable to continue with the process. What should I do?

Please review the following possible reasons:

  1. If there are more than 48 hours remaining before your flight departs, online check-in is not yet available.

  2. If there are less than 3 hours and 30 minutes remaining before departure, online check-in is no longer available. In this case, you must check in at the airport check-in counter. Please note that airport check-in counters close between 30 and 60 minutes before departure, depending on the airport. More information is available in the Airport check-in section.

  3. Please make sure you have entered the correct booking details. The system accepts only a 6-character booking reference (PNR / Booking Reference / Record Locator). This code can be found on your ticket or booking confirmation.

  4. Online check-in is not available for bookings that include special service requests, including but not limited to:

  • Unaccompanied minors
  • Infants under the age of two
  • Passengers requiring special assistance (e.g. passengers with disabilities, pregnant passengers, or passengers with specific medical conditions)
  • Passengers travelling with pets
  • Passengers travelling with sports equipment
  • Group bookings

VISA INFORMATION

When planning your trip, please check if your passport is valid and ensure you secure all legally required travel documents and visas.

Please note that you are obliged to obtain all travel documents and comply with the regulations of the countries you are travelling from, to, or through. Visa information can be obtained from the diplomatic-consular missions of the countries included in your itinerary.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS TO MONTENEGRO

If you are travelling to Montenegro, visa information can be checked on the official website of the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Visa regime for foreign citizens (mvp.gov.me).

Note: Air Montenegro informs passengers - citizens of the Republic of Turkey that, in accordance with the decision of the Government of Montenegro https://www.gov.me/diplomatske-misije/ambasade-i-konzulati-crne-gore-u-svijetu/turska, an exception to the application of valid tariff rules has been approved on flights from Istanbul and Montenegro (Podgorica/Tivat).

The decision applies to tickets issued until October 30, 2025, for travel between October 28 and November 30, 2025. Passengers can change travel dates without additional costs, provided the new trip is realized no later than March 28, 2026, or until the ticket validity expires (whichever comes first).

Also, a full refund without cancellation fee is enabled, provided the refund request is submitted no later than November 9, 2025. The same rule applies to paid additional services.

For all changes and refund requests, passengers can contact the company's contact center (contact.center@airmontenegro.com) or authorized sales agents.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR MONTENEGRIN CITIZENS TO THE SCHENGEN AREA

According to the general conditions for entry into EU countries, i.e., the Schengen area, which apply to citizens of all third countries, Montenegrin citizens may be required at the border, in addition to a biometric passport, to fulfill the following conditions:

  • To specify the place of stay (i.e., to show an invitation or guarantee letter, tourist voucher, hotel reservation, or state the address where they will be staying);
  • To possess proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay, transit, and return to their home country, in cash or on credit cards (amounts vary from country to country, ranging from 40 to 70 euros per day of stay);
  • That no entry ban measure has been recorded against them in the Schengen Information System (SIS);
  • That they have not already stayed in the Schengen area for more than 90 days in a six-month period prior to the intended entry;
  • That they do not pose a threat to public order, internal security, public health, or international relations of any EU member state.

We inform you that when travelling to the Republic of France, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Slovenia, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Italy, the Kingdom of Norway, the Swiss Confederation, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Austria, and the Slovak Republic, passengers must have a passport valid for at least three months after the planned departure from these countries.

Please note that the above rule applies to all Schengen area countries.

For the State of Israel and the Russian Federation, passengers must possess a passport valid for at least six months from the date of departure from the territory of these countries.

Please note that all the above information serves only as guidance, and passengers are obliged to inform themselves in detail with the competent authorities.

NOTE: Some countries require certain additional passenger information (API), so you may be asked during booking to provide data such as: gender, name (as in passport), surname (as in passport), date of birth, citizenship, passport number, passport issue date and expiry date, and the country that issued the passport. This data is sent to border authorities 72 hours before the flight, or within 72 hours prior to the flight if the reservation is made within that period.
